Frequently asked questions
What is CBD?
CBD, short for cannabidiol is one of more than a hundred cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. It is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis. Unlike THC, another well-known cannabinoid, CBD is non-psychoactive.
What is Full Spectrum CBD?
Full Spectrum CBD (hemp oil) means that an oil or product contains all the cannabinoids, compounds, minerals, fiber, flavonoids, and terpenes that are found in the whole cannabis plant in nature, rather than just CBD (cannabidiol). Unlike isolated or synthetic cannabinoids, full spectrum hemp oil holds nothing back and contains all cannabinoids (there are over 100 different cannabinoids). When the combination of multiple compounds in their natural state are used, it is referred to as the “entourage effect”, as it is theorized that the many components within the cannabis plant interact with the human body to produce a combined influence than any one of those components alone.
How does CBD benefit the skin?
When applied topically to the skin, the most immediately recognizable effect is that it is rich in essential fatty acids, which assists in maintaining healthy, youthful, and glowing skin. It is also superior in helping to reduce the appearance of pore size, protecting the skin’s appearance from the damaging effects of aging and maintaining a soft, smooth and youthful look and feel.
What Is a Tincture?
Not to be confused with tinctures that contain alcohol, CBD oil tinctures normally do not contain alcohol. Instead CBD oil is mixed with a carrier oil such as hemp and MCT, as well as flavors and sometimes added terpenes. Another use for tinctures is to be mixed with other topical products to help deliver CBD directly where needed.
How do I use your products?
Can topical application of CBD skincare show up in a blood test or get me high?
Our skin acts as a protective barrier. The molecules in THC are too big and can not be absorbed into the bloodstream through the skin. The cannabinoids bind to receptors in our skin, muscle tissue, and nerves, but get absorbed before they could permeate through our skin into the bloodstream. THC only gets users high when it reaches our brains, something it cannot do through the surface of the skin.
What does broad spectrum mean?
The term broad spectrum refers to CBD oil products that contain a combination of cannabinoids, terpenes and other beneficial compounds found in hemp. While many CBD oil products are made using CBD isolate, broad spectrum oils maintain concentrations of the beneficial compounds that are found in the original hemp plant. Our broad spectrum CBD oil products contain no detectable THC.
Are there any negative side effects?
CBD is not known to have any negative side effects. However, large servings of CBD may cause drowsiness. If your intention is to remain alert, this may be considered an unwanted side effect and therefore large servings should be avoided.
Does CBD interact with other medications?
Much more research needs to be done in this area. If you are taking prescription medications, consult with a qualified medical professional.
How long will it take to receive benefits from taking CBD oil?
In some cases, such as when using a vaporizer or tincture, users often report almost immediate results. However, most of the effects of CBD are subtle and take some time to be detectable — usually half an hour or more. Personal results will vary.
What is the entourage effect?
Broad spectrum CBD oil, contain a variety of cannabinoids and terpenes as well as other beneficial compounds. Each of the compounds has particular effects on the human body. Because terpenes can affect how the body responds to cannabinoids, the combined effect is often greater than the sum of the individual effects. The overall effect produced is known as the entourage effect. Non-broad or full spectrum products do not have the benefit of the entourage effect and are therefore not recommended.
When using the Vapor Oil,how do I know how much CBD I am Getting?
How much CBD depends on how hard and long you pull on your vape, so it’s hard to know for sure - but we’ve put together the rough math for you to use as a guide! A half gram cartridge has 200mg+ of CBD. There is an estimated 100 pulls per cart, which equals ~2MG of CBD per pull, or 5 pulls per 10mg of CBD. We recommend holding the vapor in your lungs for ~2-3 seconds before releasing for maximum absorption.
